When a small team of Las Vegas filmmakers embarked on a mission to document the plights of combat soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, they were met with opposition. Being non-military, they were shunned by the same soldiers they were trying to help.
It was then that these filmmaker made a promise to those soliders. "No politicians, no actors, no media people." That was the promise, and once it was made, the flood gates opened. "Who Will Stand" is a realistic, unbiased, candid view of life after combat ... told only by the soldiers, their families and the doctors who take care of them.
The goal of this film is to reduce the number of soldiers suffering from: memory loss, sleeplessness and hyper-vigilance, unemployment, homelessness, anger, secondary PTSD, divorce, suicide - all of which can be directly attributed to post-traumatic stress disorder. (120 minutes, 2009)
